THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: THE CARTOON SERIES – GREAT IDEAS AND EXECUTIONS

Εικόνα
We can all agree that the late ‘80s Legend of Zelda Cartoon, is cheesy and it has nothing to provide to the fans of today, since it was just a generic, Sunday morning cartoon, with lame script. Is this 100% correct though? Yes the script is silly-written and the main villain, Ganon is the most stupid villain of all time, buuuut… it has some ideas that can be appreciated even today.   NUMBER 1 – The Music The music of the Legend of Zelda cartoon series is great. It took the songs of the first two Zelda games (the only Zelda games that had been released when the cartoon aired) and orchestrated them in a great way, that I love to hear even today after 30 years. I urge you to watch an episode, and really focus on the music part, you will be amazed.   NUMBER 2 – The Magic Pouch Every time you play a Zelda game, you think “Where does Link keep all these items? A bow, a hookshot, a hammer, a boomerang, a magic cane, even a freaking ball and chain”. The cartoon series has the a

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: EXTENDED TIMELINE THEORY

First of all I want to add, that this theory is standing on my expirience of the games and some facts I found around the internet from fans that I agreed on and it is combined with the official timeline that Nintendo has offered over the years. Let’s get into the additions:   The Legend of Zelda: The Missing Link (Story #1 in the Child Era) This fan-made game, doesn’t need any explanation why it's there. If you have played it, you know. If you haven’t, PLAY IT.   The Legend of Zelda: Dawn and Dusk (Story #3 in the Child Era) Another fan-made game, that takes place in a forgotten kingdom that is far away from Hyrule. Link in that story isn't the recarnation of the Hero but a descendant of a Prince of that land. I put it there because it fits in the whole "Dark vibe" there is in "Child Era" after Hero of Time visited Termina, or the Dark Hyrule of the Twilight Princess but really it could fit anywhere to be honest.   The Legend of Zelda: Hy

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: A LINK TO THE PAST REVIEW (+ HOMEBREW CHALLENGE)

Recently, I’ve replayed The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, but with a homebrew challenge (read it after the Review) and I can say, I really enjoyed finishing the game once again. Note: I played the GBA version, on my DS. Playing while taking notes this time, I want once again to put my thoughts on paper and present to you my view of the game (this is my opinion, it doesn’t mean it is the best one out there).   First I want to start with the things I liked about the game: 1. Let’s be honest, it’s the game that made Zelda what it is today (well at least what it was until Breath of the Wild). It gave us lore about Hyrule, Ganondorf, Zelda, Triforce, the Gods and even about Link. 2. The whole game still has replay value after 30 years of its original release. The graphics are smooth for a 16-bit game, the music is amazing, the whole video game experience is at its top. 3. Great dungeon design. Let’s be honest, A Link to the Past has 11 dungeons, making them one very

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: BREATH OF THE WILD REVIEW

Well hello. Huge Zelda fan here, with a collection of every single game, manga and book here. I love Zelda lore, I love Zelda's Universe and their history behind. I played BOTW last year due to some problems I had that didn't let me buy the console and the game the moment it came out. But it eventually it worked out.   The whole feeling that I was left with was .... meh.   I'm not saying it's a bad game by any means, I'm just saying it's not Zelda. It was an open-world mediocre adventure with Zelda skin.   I know many will not accept my way of thinking but listen to this. Zelda was always innovative. Bringing new style of play to every game and never was afraid as a franchise to take a risk and change the whole game from the last one. This was a thing from the early years of the franchise. The Legend of Zelda in 1986 was an overhead openworld adventure, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link was a sidescrolling RPG for the most time. Ocarina of Time w

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: DAWN AND DUSK REVIEW

I finished the Ocarina of Time romhack-expansion Loz: Dawn and Dusk and I can say it was good. Not "Missing Link"-kind of good, but good overall.   First I wanna say things I liked about it: 1. The textures were well-made, the music covered nicely the whole eerie atmosphere of this new country and its dark history. 2. I loved the intro of the game explaining the story of this new land and its amazing artwork. It made me want to find out more about this land. I always liked Zelda games that were taking place in other lands and countries except Hyrule, making me to want to learn about this place and its inhabidants. 3. The Red Cavern Dungeon was really challenging and thought out by the creators. I really enjoyed it and got frustrated at the same time. Although its boss can be killed in one hit, but I can live with that. 4. There were nice puzzles all over the land, which were optional. You can finish the whole game without getting all the heart pieces, the metal

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: THE MISSING LINK REVIEW

Εικόνα
So I finished the new Ocarina of Time patch-expansion. The Legend of Zelda: The Missing Link and I'd have to say, that was a really great Zelda expirience. First of all, the story is a direct sequel taking place after Ocarina of Time and right before Majora's Mask. A journey of Link, to find a Fairy-capturing demon who lives in the Deep Woods and destroy him so he can protect his friend, Navi, who left him at the Temple of Time, right after the seal of Ganondorf in the future. So the lore is great. Saria makes a huge appearance (NO SPOILERS), the Deep Woods before Termina look amazing and the whole "Zelda atmosphere" is right there. It's a great followup to the original game and it could literally be a DLC, if DLCs existed back in late 90's. As for the gameplay, it is a great expirience, with great music, really good puzzles and some fighting using the Sword Beam (which was missing from the 3D Zelda games until Skyward Sword), nice mini-quests to drive

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: HYRULE WARRIORS REVIEW

Εικόνα
I just refinished the Legend Mode of Hyrule Warriors and I want to put my thoughts about the game out there. Also I want to note that I played the 3DS version while I have all the DLCs of the game.   Also I will comment mostly on the Legend Mode. Adventure Mode is a whole different game which always is a plus to the whole "Hyrule Warriors" expirience.   First I wanna start with the things I liked about the game: 1. It's the first time we see warfare in Zelda gameplay. Other times is either hinted it's happening (f.e. Twilight invasion in Twilight Princess) or it's just history that you learn about via reading or talking to NPCs. 2. The new antagonists, Cia, Volga and Wizzro are great and fresh characters to Zelda lore. Their backstory seems interesting with Cia being a witch that oversees the balance of the world, Volga being the leader of Lizalfos and can transform into a dragon and Wizzro who is a Wizzrobe-Poe that lives inside a cursed Blue Ring t
