THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: THE MISSING LINK REVIEW

So I finished the new Ocarina of Time patch-expansion. The Legend of Zelda: The Missing Link and I'd have to say, that was a really great Zelda expirience.

First of all, the story is a direct sequel taking place after Ocarina of Time and right before Majora's Mask. A journey of Link, to find a Fairy-capturing demon who lives in the Deep Woods and destroy him so he can protect his friend, Navi, who left him at the Temple of Time, right after the seal of Ganondorf in the future.

So the lore is great. Saria makes a huge appearance (NO SPOILERS), the Deep Woods before Termina look amazing and the whole "Zelda atmosphere" is right there. It's a great followup to the original game and it could literally be a DLC, if DLCs existed back in late 90's.

As for the gameplay, it is a great expirience, with great music, really good puzzles and some fighting using the Sword Beam (which was missing from the 3D Zelda games until Skyward Sword), nice mini-quests to drive the story and even an all-new Item which works perfectly in this world.

I beat the game in about 3-4 hours so that was my only dissapointment (being so small of a game). It left me with a sense of completion but also with a "hunger" for more.

After beating this game my Quest Log was looking like this:

6 hearts, 3 Deaths, Kokiri Sword, Hero's Shield, Kokiri Boots, Ocarina of Time, 30 Deku Sticks, 20 Deku Nuts, 20 Bombchus, 1 bottle (There must be another one I never found) and the new item I won't spoil for the people who will play it.

I recommend it to every one of you to give it a try. You can really finish it in one or two sessions (considering how much of a Zelda veteran you are) and it will leave you this sweet feeling of nostalgia and hope we will see more projects like that in the future
