ZELDA-CEBO #1: BLUE FIRE REVIEW

Εικόνα
Hello fellow Zelda fans. Long time no read. I’d like to introduce you to this new section of my blog, “Zelda-cebo” which is a placebo treatment for us Zelda fans that want to play some Zelda inspired games since we may have finished every Zelda game out there (official or mod). So the first episode of “Zelda-cebo” will introduce you to a 2021 game that I had the opportunity to play and finish recently, named “Blue Fire”. So what is “Blue Fire”? It’s a fast-paced, action adventure platform, puzzle, dark fantasy, game. In more simple words it’s a game that you would take if you combined Zelda, Hollow Knight and Dark Souls. As far as the story goes Blue Fire takes place in the desolate kingdom of Penumbra, a land consumed by dark forces. The kingdom was once a prosperous land, but has been overrun by malevolent force and it’s up to our hero to save his world. Now as always let’s get into my review about the things I liked and the things that I would change about the game.

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: PHANTOM HOURGLASS REVIEW (+ HOMEBREW CHALLENGE)

It’s been a few months that I started replaying the DS sequel of Wind Waker on the side, while of course I was trying to complete the Main Quest of Age of Calamity. I mostly played it while I was on the road, having my 3DS in my backpack, spending some hours before I go to sleep on weekdays and at last, yesterday I refinished The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass with a little hombrew challenge so I’d make it more interesting (you can read it after the review) . Now let’s get into my review about the things I liked and the things that I would change.   First about the things that I liked about the game: 1. The gameplay with the stylus is really innovative and you can get used to it after some time. Sure it can be tiring at some points, but I really enjoyed playing the game back then and today. 2. The touch screen gives you more possibilities, like taking notes on the map about where to go, how to solve a puzzle etc. I love that the game was built around that. 3. The du

After finishing the Main Quest of Age of Calamity, I’ve laid my Nintendo Switch Controller to rest this week and since our beloved franchise turned 35 years old a few days ago, I decided to take a trip back to the past and replay – once again – the original title. To make it even more challenging I decided to add a new homebrew challenge I called “Hero’s Challenge for Original LoZ”. I also played a “remastered” version through one beloved application called “Zelda Classic”. In this PC application you can play the original Zelda game, but also remastered versions of it or fan-made Quests, with some of them being really good. The remastered version I played, was with GC graphics, with the textures looking a lot like the Oracle Games. You can download Zelda classic here (https://www.zeldaclassic.com/) Now let’s jump into my opinion of the game that started it all, with my usual pros and cons list. The things I liked about the game: 1. I really love the freedom this 35 year o

I finished recently the Main Quest of Age of Calamity and as always I would like to express my opinion on the new Zelda experience that Nintendo offered us. For the ones that live under a rock with a Korok, it’s not a regular Zelda game, but a Hyrule Warriors title, with a lot of hack and slash, battlefields and lots of Champions to choose from. So if you remember my Hyrule Warriors Legends review – if you don’t look it up on my blog – I really love warfare in the Zelda Universe and seeing a Breath of the Wild prequel like that, made me so hyped about owning and playing that game. So after finishing the Main Quest let’s move into the review about the things I liked and the things that I would change. First about the things that I liked about the game: 1. This one is a given. I love fantasy warfare, the battles were amazing and the whole “war atmosphere” was right there. So if you at least liked Hyrule Warriors then you will LOVE Age of Calamity. 2. The storyline is great

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: WAND OF GAMELON REVIEW

A few days before, I uploaded a review after playing my first ever CDi Zelda game, “Faces of Evil”. Of course I played the remastered version, created for the PC which fixes a few of the problems the original had. To be specific the remastered version has: 1. More polished graphics 2. Better controls (You can use a pc or an xbox controller and configure the controls of the game). 3. Unlimited continues, making death less annoying than the original game. 4. A hintbox method you have on your controller, so you will never be misguided. 5. A hero’s mode that you can play after finishing the Quest in Normal mode.   To be fair I can’t say many things that I liked or disliked, like I do to most of my reviews just because, Wand of Gamelon was the exact same game with Faces of Evil, with a few differences here and there. If you want to know my likes and dislikes on this game visit this link ( https://greeklinkscorner.blogspot.com/2021/01/legend-of-zelda-faces-of-evil-review.

Well, I’ll be honest with you. I always wanted to play the “Zelda CDi” games. I was always intrigued of how many bad things were said about those games. When I found out last week that there is a remastered version for them for the PC, I was thrilled. I literally, stopped working and started downloading those games on my laptop. If someone wants to download them, here is the link you can visit ( https://archive.org/details/foer-wogr-patched-12-9-20 ) Before starting the review of the game I should mention what are some of the more important improvements that the remastered version of the games offer to the players. 1.

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: EXTENDED TIMELINE THEORY (UPDATED) – CADENCE OF HYRULE PLACEMENT

Here we are again. Theorizing and adding new – even fanmade – stories of the Zelda franchise into a chronological order. This post, is created so it can fix my older one (look it up on my blog if you want) from the wrong Cadence of Hyrule placement on the extended timeline. After playing the game myself, I think the proper place of this story is after Four Swords and before Ocarina of Time. “But why?” I hear you ask. Well let’s get to the points that led me to that conclusion. The Legend of Zelda: Cadence of Hyrule (Story #4 in the Era of Legend) In Cadence of Hyrule, the Hyrule Kingdom isn’t at its glory as we can see it after Ocarina Of Time, in most of the titles, it looks like it just started building itself like we see in Minish Cap and in Four Swords. Also monsters roam free on the field, showing that there is no army and fortifications yet to send monster off the country. In this game we meet with Deku Tree, but in the forest are living Deku Scrubs and not Kokiris, m

ECONOMICAL ANALYSIS OF THE ZELDA UNIVERSE

This subject, is something that has come to my mind for the last few weeks, re-playing some of the older games and the new releases of Cadence of Hyrule and of course Age of Calamity, I would like to get to the Economy of the countries in the Legend of Zelda Universe. For scale we will use the maximum amount of Rupees our hero can hold in each and every game. We will start from the first game that we actually have an established Hyrule Kingdom (so Skyward Sword is out), where the maximum amount of Hyrulean Rupees is 999, let’s call it 1.000 so it will be easier for us in the future references. So in the Newly established Hyrule, 1.000 Rupees is a great amount of money, making the holder of them, as rich as they can get. Some years later, in Ocarina of Time, the richest Hyrulean can hold 500 Rupees. This means that a person can carry half the amount of Rupees compared to the Minish Cap Hyrule. So what does that mean? It means that with the prosperity of Hyrule and the unif

To be honest I’ve waited so long for the physical release. I know this game is not a new one, but I didn’t play it while it was released in its digital form. I like game boxes and I like collecting Zelda stuff, so I told myself to wait, it’s not like it was a main Zelda title. So yeah, I pre-ordered the game, it arrived to my home last Friday and between, work, social life and the whole pandemic thing going on, I managed to finish the main story today. So I present you my opinion of the main game after I completed it, starting with… Things that I liked about the game: 1. The whole graphic design of the game is befitting to the Zelda Series, it is like a more polished GBA game and let’s be honest, Minish Cap’s graphics were really good for a handheld game. 2. The random generated world, gives the game huge replay value. 3. The whole overworld is great, with very nice battles and overworld bosses that will reward you with Rupees, Diamonds or even main equipment like the Boo
